Awards & Recognition

While all of the projects that are done through Spark the Wave deserve significant recognition, Spark the Wave believes that a select few superstars deserve to be rewarded for taking their passion for volunteering to the next level.

Each year delegates that have accomplished their take home service project have the opportunity to apply for a special Spark the Wave Service Star Award. The three delegates that have completed the most incredible projects will win not only an award of recognition, but also a full scholarship to our popular SIT program. On a broader scale, The President's Volunteer Service Award is a prestigious and nationally recognized award that encourages U.S citizens to commit to live a life filled with service. This award is given to volunteers on different levels (bronze, silver, gold) based upon how many hours of service have been documented. Think this national recognized award would look good on your college resume? Well, Spark the Wave is an accredited certifying organization for these awards, and attending Spark the Wave could be YOUR first step to receiving The President's Volunteer Service Award. Think those are the only awards you can receive volunteering? Absolutely not! Spark the Wave has nominated volunteers to receive other regional and national awards and recognitions such as: The National Honor Society, ANNpower, Champions of Caring, DoSomething.org, The Jefferson Awards and many more.

Remember, in addition to the 40 hours of service you will receive for Wave Week, we can also assist you in certifying additional service hours for your Club Wave work, time spent at a STW Day of Service, or a great service project that you planned all by yourself. All of these hours can by parlayed into awards. You deserve it; you did change the world for the better after all!
