OUR IMPACT
The Impact of Spark the Wave Programs
Keeping teens involved in meaningful activities reduces the likelihood of risky behaviors. In addition, two-thirds of today’s adult volunteers began volunteering when they were teens. Unfortunately, few youth receive any specialized training that could improve their ability to make a greater impact in the community. While many non-profits and charities welcome free help, they are in particular need of skilled volunteer support. Spark the Wave fills this gap.
In addition to the need STW fulfills in the community, our intensive leadership process has a long list of advantages for students. Our program participants report improved self-confidence and satisfaction from their experience, and knowledge that they can change what they see as being wrong with the world.
