Wave Week 2009 Delegates Open Library in Ethiopia

While delegates at Wave Week 2009, Ruth Mengistu (Som erset High School, Kentucky), Allegra Johnston (Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, Maryland), Casey Neary (Randolph High School, New Jersey), and Sibelle DerKrekorian (Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, Pennsylvania) became motivated to start a library in Ethiopia. While at camp they began the planning process for this huge undertaking. After camp, these three inspirational young women and other contributors collected close to 10,000 books with the Miriam Beza Memorial Foundation. The books have been shipped and will be met in a couple of weeks by Ruth, Allegra, and other volunteers to put the library together.
